Compassion, understanding for the rest of the world. Of course playing devils advocate, I was thinking this is all pretty self - involved and not really about the community. and can I add smoking pot to list too?? drinking?? eating?? all forms of transcendence, maybe - or just escape. hmmm love and hugsCheers!https://www.blogger.com/profile/10449403454622180862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18968172.post-9266307953408001382010-02-08T13:25:59.520-08:002010-02-08T13:25:59.520-08:00Absolutely! An answer to a continuous prayer. I am...Absolutely! An answer to a continuous prayer. I am multi-denominational practiser of Gnosticism, Buddhism, Wicca and am putting a toe in the waters of Kaballah. I've wished that there was a way to synchronize the gems from these into a cohesible "container" without feeling that i am disrespectful and judged for not practising one specific path. But beyond this I have had my most profound spiritual experiences in estatic dance groups. To amalgamate movement, the resonance of voice and intentional surrender to the sacred in a group setting would be powerful. <br />Joseph Campbell said that all we really want to do is dance,....Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17602799205406704372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18968172.post-22340800900709507882010-02-08T12:43:00.363-08:002010-02-08T12:43:00.363-08:00OK! This would give way to silent sitting for 30 minutes or so, followed by sharing tea and conversation."<br />I honestly don't know how to sync up my experiences at CrossPoint Community Church (a lot of religious fervor there, but very Jesus-directed) with more earth-centered religions. I suppose the answer probably is: "It's all good." But history has/ we have created so many divides between different faiths, and I'm not yet able to bring it all together....<br />But please do post info about any sacred circles that you initiate!SeptemberSWAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15275720448565492514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18968172.post-46635247434740006442010-02-08T08:35:15.452-08:002010-02-08T08:35:15.452-08:00Not only would I want to, but to the extent that i...Not only would I want to, but to the extent that it's possible for me I already have, although I was not part of the formative stage of this particular community. But my daughter has been involved with Reclaiming (Wicca-Pagan) since her teens, and more recently a Jewish/Pagan group that probably couldn't exist outside of Berkeley, California. I have never been to any of their events, which I understand often include kirtan singing, but I have been to several Reclaiming events and have been totally transformed by the experience. For me, non-hierarchical is more important than non-denominational. Although inevitably, these hybrid groups are non-sectarian as well.Rakshahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11280365011937595321noreply@blogger.com
